Two of Enso Energy’s developed projects have been sold to our strategic joint venture partners Arlington Energy. The two sites, one a 40MW energy storage site in Bedford and the other a gas peaking site on Chesterfield Road, Rotherham, will now be constructed by Arlington Infrastructure Ltd.
Enso Energy developed the sites, taking them through the complex planning procedure, to the point where they are shovel-ready. Andrew King, Managing Director of Enso Energy, said, “The sale of these sites marks another step forward in the provision of back-up energy for the UK. Once operational, the sites will help to address the issue of volatility in the power supply through supporting the national grid. We are delighted that our partners have secured the sites as part of a wider energy funding deal worth £200m.”
